About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organised and motivated Governance Officer to join the Governance Team at Brandon Trust.
As a key link between the Governance and Impact Manager, the Executive Leadership Team, and the Board of Trustees, you’ll help uphold integrity, transparency, and effectiveness across the organisation’s governance framework.

You’ll play an essential role in ensuring meetings run smoothly, documentation is accurate, and compliance obligations are met — helping leaders make informed, confident decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver agendas, papers, and minutes to a high standard and on time.

  • Maintain governance records, registers, and filings to ensure full audit readiness.

  • Support statutory compliance and maintain accurate documentation for Board and Executive Teams.

  • Create and maintain governance dashboards and trackers to support oversight and reporting.

  • Keep the policy library organised, current, and accessible to staff across the organisation.

  • Draft clear and professional communications and briefings for senior leaders and trustees.

  • Help improve governance processes through the adoption of new tools and systems (e.g. digital filing, meeting software, AI tools).

About You

You’ll be someone who combines accuracy with initiative — detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

Essential skills and attributes include:

  • Strong organisational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Good understanding of governance, compliance, and data protection principles (training can be provided).

  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal.

  • Comfortable working with digital tools and systems.

  • A collaborative team player who values inclusion, integrity, and continuous improvement.

What We Offer

  • Flexible working hours (22.5 – 30 hours per week)

  • Competitive salary of £30,000 pro rata

  • Supportive and inclusive working environment

  • Opportunities for professional development
