Job Introduction

Bank Support Worker
Location: Grimsbury Farm, Bristol, BS15
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Flexible shifts on a 24/7 rota (planned in advance)
Driver: Essential

About the role

As a Support Worker at Brandon Trust, you'll be part of something meaningful, supporting autistic people and people with learning disabilities to live life in the way that suits them best.

Based at Grimsbury Farm in Bristol, this is a unique opportunity to combine person-centred support with a rural, outdoor environment. You'll support people to take part in a range of farm-based activities, helping them develop skills, confidence, independence, and meaningful connections. Activities may include caring for animals, maintaining outdoor spaces, supporting horticultural projects, and taking part in the day-to-day routines of the farm.

Every person we support has their own interests, goals, and aspirations. You'll work alongside them to build on their strengths, encourage choice and independence, and help them get the most from their time at the farm and within their local community.

You'll also support with day-to-day activities, including managing health needs, attending appointments, preparing meals, and supporting people to access opportunities both on and off the farm.

You may also provide personal care, helping people with washing, dressing, and other essential routines. Personal care is always delivered respectfully, in line with each person's individual preferences and support plans.

No two days are the same, and every day brings the opportunity to make a genuine difference.

Why this role matters

Grimsbury Farm offers a welcoming and engaging environment where people can learn new skills, spend time outdoors, connect with animals, and build confidence through meaningful activities.

You'll be supporting people to achieve personal goals, develop independence, and enjoy experiences that matter to them. Whether it's helping someone learn a new farming skill, care for an animal, or simply enjoy being outdoors, you'll play an important part in making those opportunities possible.

This is rewarding work with purpose, where you can see the direct impact of your support every day.

What we're looking for

  • A kind and thoughtful approach rooted in empathy and respect
  • A genuine interest in supporting people to achieve their goals and build independence
  • Enjoyment of outdoor environments and farm-based activities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • A commitment to inclusion and celebrating what makes each person unique
  • It is essential you hold a full UK manual driving licence
  • Please note that this role does not offer visa sponsorship. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK and hold a valid work visa with a minimum of 12 months' remaining validity at the time of application. Applications from candidates who require sponsorship, or whose visa has less than 12 months' remaining validity, will not be considered.

No experience? That's okay.

Your values and behaviours matter more than your previous experience. If you're someone who listens well, treats others with respect, and genuinely wants to help people live the lives they choose, we'll provide everything you need to succeed.

With comprehensive training, ongoing support, and development opportunities, you'll be supported every step of the way.
