Farm Shop Manager 
Location: Elm Tree Farm, Park Rd, Bristol 
Hours: 37.5 per week (5 days in 7, including Saturdays and occasional Sundays) 
Contract: Permanent 

Are you passionate about sustainable produce and community-focused retail? Elm Tree Farm is looking for a Farm Shop Manager to lead our welcoming, inclusive shop and help create meaningful opportunities for autistic people and people with learning disabilities.  

 

About the Role 

As Farm Shop Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of our farm shop, which proudly offers local fresh meat, dairy produce, and unique handmade gifts. You’ll be comfortable working with these products and passionate about sharing the stories behind them. 

You’ll work closely with colleagues, volunteers, and the people we support to create a welcoming space where everyone can build confidence and learn new skills. Your leadership will help the shop thrive both as a community hub and as a successful small business. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead all aspects of shop operations, ensuring smooth daily running and high standards in presentation, sustainability, and customer experience
  • Grow income and meet KPI targets through in-store and online sales
  • Bring creativity to seasonal campaigns, events, and community engagement
  • Provide person-centred coaching that supports people’s individual goals and celebrates their strengths
  • Maintain full compliance with food safety requirements, licensing, and operational policies
  • Promote the shop through social media, local partnerships, and community activity
  • Represent Brandon Trust and Elm Tree Farm at local events and forums

What We’re Looking For 

  • Experience managing a boutique-style or small independent shop would be ideal
  • Understanding of small business operations, from stock control to community-led customer service
  • Passion for sustainable, ethically produced food including the ability to handle fresh meat and dairy with confidence
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A collaborative approach to leading diverse teams
  • A commitment to inclusive, person-centred support
  • Confidence working independently and making thoughtful, values-led decisions
  • A full clean driving licence and access to transport
